These are very accurate representations of the arcade sports meeting from the 80’s. I am a huge fan of Yie Ar Kung-Fu and it plays exactly like the original. Track & Field has 6 events like the original arcade as well. There are 15 sports meeting total so it has a lot to offer.
The screen can be a small small at times but that is to be expected. A couple of sports meeting I wish they had included would have been Gyruss and Amidar. Other than that it is hard to find fault with this particular release. I would recommend this to anyone that appreciates classic arcade sports meeting.

I bought this as I like the ancient retro sports meeting I grew up with them. These sports meeting are splendid fun but I bought this game because of Track & Field. I spent alot of cash in the arcade version and I still have the ancient black and white Gameboy version of Track & Field. I was hoping that the entire Track & Field game would be present but there are only 6 of the 11 events present. The ancient Gameboy game is more complete. The other sports meeting are fun but Track & Field is missing to much.

The sports meeting are exactly as I remember them. My son (8) is having a blast trying out the various sports meeting. He particularly likes Rush N Attack, Track and Field, and Contra.

Konami Classics: Arcade Hits features 15 of Konami’s arcade sports meeting that were all over the place in the 80’s, and it’s a pretty solid vintage game pool in it’s own right. If you’ve played any of these sports meeting back in their heyday, you’ll notice that the emulation here is in fact pretty excellent for all the sports meeting, which range from classics like the original Contra and Gradius, to sports meeting that were never really that excellent in the first place like Road Fighter, to the downright dreadful like Basketball. That alone is this pool’s largest flaw: the selection of sports meeting. Not to mention that a majority of the sports meeting don’t look quite right thanks to getting squeezed down on the DS’ small screen. That aside though, Time Pilot, Track & Field, Yie Ar King Fu, and Horror Maze are splendid sports meeting, and Contra and Gradius are worth checking this out for alone. All in all, if you’re looking for a pretty decent nostalgia trip and own a DS, Konami Classics: Arcade Hits is about as excellent as it gets for now.
