I bought this game last night, and holy shIyte.
It’s garbage. It comes w/2 discs, 2002 & 2003, which are the exact same slow, lame game.
The character’s profiles are changed for the worse on both,
there is no option to alacrity it up…
I was playing Fatal Fury for the Sega Genes the other day, and the alacrity is about equal.
I have KOF ‘99 for the PS1, and that just blows both of these peices of Sh** out of the water.
Better Graphics, quicker gameplay, better looking characters,
and a hell of a better made game.
Save your cash, and try to find a excellent copy of
Marvel Vs.Capcom 2 or Capcom Vs. SNK 2.
Capcom fighting evolution is 10 times better than this.
Not recommended.

If you like 2-D fighting sports meeting and have a chance to pick this pool up… do it! It’s awesome.
Lately at the local Gamestops I’ve selected up a bunch of different 2-D fighting sports meeting on the cheap side. This one (particularly King of Fighters 2002) is my favorite.
I’m excellent at fighting sports meeting. I went owing to King of Fighters 2003 in a half an hour; beat it on my first try. Much like King of Fighters 2006. Similarly, I found the Street Fight Anniversary Pool, and the Fatal Fury Battle Archives not worth many playthroughs. I even tried one of the Guilty Gear sports meeting (Isuka), but found it overrated with wonky controls (have to manual turn your character around in 2D?).
Now let me sing the praises of King of Fighters 2002. It has over 40 playable characters, and a few more you can unlock. It has a survival mode. It has a team battle mode (arcade and versus). The final boss in Arcade mode is really, really hard (this was a plus for me), but I finally managed to beat him with a 3-person team including Kula Diamond. You get the same boss in both Arcade and Team Arcade, but he is simpler in team mode because you don’t need to win 2 out of 3 against him. Still haven’t beaten him in normal Arcade mode.
That’s not all… the best part about KoF 2002 is Challenge mode. There are 40 Challenges. Each of them is beat X Fighters in YY seconds. For example early you get something like ‘beat 3 fighters in 150 seconds.’ These are fun, and the later ones are HARD. I’ve probably played King of Fighters 2002 for at least 20 hours, just doing the challenge modes. For me, this meant the game was a splendid investment.
Your mileage may vary, but I had a lot of fun with this game (and continue doing so), and recommend it.

Two sports meeting for the price of one, if you like the King of Fighters series then who could complain?

2002 was ok, playable to say the least, but the character sprites could have been better. The social class was cool though and some moves are kind of hard to pull off, but otherwise it was a decent game.
2003 was better, the sprites were back to normal, moves are simple to go and the stage social class was more active than 2002. 2003 is an awesome installment, excellent game!
The direct sequal to 2003 is The King Of Fighters XI(2004), which is another awesome instalment, that you can buy owing to amazon.
Now lets hope The King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match comes out for the Ps2 soon.

It’s been a few years since the bundle came out and I agree with all the clear reviews. I got this recently and like it! The only thing that I can add is when playing the 2002 disc you need practice and patience. Die hard fans already know this but new fans might not realize it. Now I’ve played KOF sports meeting that came after this bundle as well as other fighting sports meeting from other companies. Their special moves, super moves and desperation moves were honestly simple to do. In this game you have to be exact as far as inputs and timing. For a while I thought that I had a defective game because I also knew that my controllers were effective. I had to go online to get info since none of my friends played KOF and found this to be the case. The HSDM’s (Hidden Super Desperation Moves or simply MAX2 moves) on the 2002 disc are fun to watch. You need to have 20% or less on your life bar, have at least 2 bars filled and have MAX mode activated. Once you correctly input the go you can watch the animation. This game has the most personality that I’ve seen in any game. The large roster of fighters makes sure that you won’t be bored. I certainly recommend this pack if you want to try something new and don’t mind the learning curve.
