Combat Lifelike AI and Inhospitable Terrain
Despite the charming character animations and swift-thinking AI behind each individual Helghan, their planet itself may be the most deceptive opponent that you face. Unlike other game environments that serve as not anything more than a visual surroundings, the devastating Helghan climate takes a notable toll. And, worst of all, the Helghans know exactly how to use the planet against you.
The in-your-face perspective comes to life as you take aim with exotic new weapons and mainstays from the previous sports meeting, including the M82-G assault rifle. And you can now guide an array of rugged, sometimes weird, vehicles that enlarge the gruesome possibilities of war.
Guerilla Technology in a Terrifying, Realistic World
Guerrilla’s unique visuals and deferred rendering technology ensure that even the ugliest situations on Helghan are perfectly lit. Ambient occlusion and accurate shadow casting from a variety of light sources combine with gritty textures, detailed environments, and studio-grade special effects to help complete the realistic, Hollywood experience of this first-person shooter.
Real-time cutscenes, full-screen anti-aliasing, motion blurs, and internal lens reflections all bring you into the fold and work to maximize the hardware capabilities of the PS3. And the audio experience is no less impressive. 7.1 surround sound capability lend a truly dynamic sound element to your experience, while audio occlusion with wave tracing means that you can hear the difference between indoor and outdoor firefights.
Chaotic Multiplayer Drama Online
While release-player mode lets you take on the unique challenges of 11 fully developed levels, online play lets you engage with up to 32 players at a time, bringing the gritty, realistic chaos of war to a whole new level.
Other multi-player friendly enhancements in Killzone 2 include in-game clan management, a match wagering system, and the ability to integrate new information and track friends and enemies with the community at Killzone.com.

killzone 2 is pretty excellent but it is not anywhere as excellent as people make it sound.
the enemies and weapons and levels are very generic and the game is very repetitive. not very many enemy or level variations so after a while everything looks the same.
also the game is very slow. the whole game feels very sluggish and it is frustrating when you end up dying because your character will not go quick enough.
the visuals are breathtaking but underneath it the game is just a mediocre, generic fps.
it is certainly worth owning if you have a ps3 since there are so few excellent fps sports meeting out for the system, but i would wait until it goes on sale.

The same day that this product launched, they chose to ‘fix’ a conundrum with people using ‘bot’ matches to boost their statistics by COMPLETELY removing the bots system for online…so the thing that had been advertised and hyped for months is currently NOT a part of the game….this COULD be a splendid game, but wait a few weeks before buying because it’s clear they haven’t got much worked out completely, and they will likely be ripping out features and messing things up for a while until they figure out what they are doing…even something it does well now could be cut tomorrow…wait weeks until it stabilizes, and check the PSN forums to see if it seems ready.

bought this at midnight when it came out.
it was fun at first but it gets dull quick.
controls really really suck.
levels all look the same. release player is small and not very excellent. online is the only excellent part about this game but it is not as excellent as other fps sports meeting currently out there. not even as fun as resistance 2 for online.
no way is this the 5/5, 100%, best fps of all time that people are saying. excellent graphics but under that it is no different than what is already out there.

If you are looking for an online FPS game, keep looking. This game has potential, but the controls are so terrible that you’ll end up sending it back or letting it gather dust.
This is frustrating because the game looks pretty excellent, and has a number of fascinating features, but all is for not anything with control.

Call of Duty 4 is much smoother & has much better control. This game is over hyped – just like the first one was. Sorry I wasted $51.99 on it. Hopefully I can find someone to buy it. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes out this fall – save your cash for that one instead.
