After the incredible success and acclaim of Star Wars: Knights of the Ancient Republic, BioWare knew they had some honest shoes to fill. The wait is finally over! From BioWare and the Microsoft Game Studios comes the ambitious and head-turning role playing game, Jade Empire.
The game’s designers have crafted an entirely new and unique world inspired by ancient Chinese myths and legends. In the primeval, arcane setting of the Jade Empire, you’ll train under your master’s watchful stare and learn the mystical and magical powers of ancient martial arts. You’ll travel widely — from the rugged mountains of the Land of Howling Spirits to the luxuriant gardens of the Imperial City–as you make your way on your quest. Powerful human and supernatural foes will stand in your way, but with practice you’ll learn to overcome your most powerful enemies. And as you venture forth owing to Jade Empire, you’ll be challenged with questions that will ultimately lead you to learn the darkest secrets of the world.
The game starts when a series of sinister events disrupt the peaceful harmony of an isolated martial arts school. You’ll be mandatory to confront a slew of shady characters, evil warlocks, demonic beasts, and other atrocious villains that protect the Jade Empire’s deepest secrets.
Jade Empire offers you the chance to become a martial arts master. You’ll take upon yourself the identity of one of six different characters and start developing your skills. Each character has a unique appearance, voice, and fighting stylishness. As you progress in the game, you’ll choose whether to adopt the ways of excellent or evil, and your choices will affect your reputation.
Jade Empire matches the frenetic pace and fury of Hong Kong cinema. As you progress in the game, you’ll upgrade your combat ability and learn new, specially tailored moves for your character. Only by mastering your moves and defeating the most powerful enemies will you earn your place as a master in the world of Jade Empire.

I cannot appropriately rate this game, because i have not received it yet. But looks excellent. I hope it is NOT a 1st person character play.

Jade Empire is going to be one of the best RPG’s of all time. The graphics are phenominal with mindblowing visuals. The sound is splendid and the game contains more than 300 voice overs. The fighting system is all new. It looks splendid and runs very fluently. The tale of Jade Empire is based on Chinese myths. An evil ruler wants to take over all the nations and “you” have to stop him. This game is somewhat just like Fable, with all that upgrading your player. You upgrade your character by killing beasts and enemies. You also use magic and you change into beasts that make you kill them quicker. So by and large you should get this game and if you don’t…WELL…TO BAD!!

This game is exellent in every way, the lush graphics and scenery, the choice talking, and the fighting stylishness, this lives up to Knights Of The Ancient Republic 1&2 by far! Way to go Bioware!

The combat was never hard on the toughest difficulty till the end when they place massive reflect hurt shields on mobs that would half kill me from 1 combo. I find this cheap since the ai was never excellent enough to hit me practically..
The japan culture was a failure because it was so unrealistic. The thought of open palm and closed fist was a splendid thought but it seems that they didn’t have a release person that so much as read Shogun because none of the dialog options would be anything a self respecting samurai would ever do and the closed fist options were even worse because they were based upon american thoughts of evil instead of a different path. Samurai would dishonor themselves by simply even lowering themselves to the level that most of the quests place you into. Karma was a huge part of the culture but not even properly clarified.. or mentioned. I expect immersive right to the experiance sports meeting from bioware and that’s what disgusted me the most from this game. I would even say that its borderline mockery to feudal japans culture.
The only 2 things I can say that’s clear about this game is that the secondary chars where amusing at times and the graphics are ok.
