A decent game fun small adventure game. I just bought a few new adventure sports meeting for my DS and I really looked forward to this one. This adventure game, but is not a favorite of reviewers – for excellent reason. The game is a hybrid adventure game and platform game in one, and the graphics are quite plain in the platform section. A splendid game this is not.
While this game has its flaws, the adventure parts are quite excellent and engaging. The look is similar to a Japanese phone game and plays like one too. For me, the adventure parts are unadorned and alot of fun so if you want a fun small game for on the go entertainment here you are. Flawed but simple to play on the go. Just place up with the platform parts of the game.

Insecticide is kind of a subspecie, part action/platformer part point and click adventure. Sounds excellent? Well, read on.
You start off in a dystopic future where insects have become the dominant specie. You’re officer Chrys Lyst, a young female… well, no matter what you are, with your grisled detective partner, Roachy. He serves as narration and provides most of the ancient unpleasant detective movie dialogue, which I have to say in fact grows on you and is quite charming. The tale involves the murder of an insect and conspiracies that I won’t spoil for you. If you’ve ever watched a companion cop movie with a honest plot then this will be pretty similar, only with bug-puns.
The point and click segments are superbly done and handle well on the DS. But, the action sequences might be a bit too mishandled for gaming veterans. Chrys moves a bit like an SUV with a cork gun, turns horribly and always shoots too slow. The thing is that if you aren’t used to quick paced action sports meeting this won’t be a hindrance. Adjusting to the system took me maybe a half hour of game time tops. Also I should mention that the game’s affect tones are very dark and if possible it should be played on a DS light which has a brighter screen then original DS.
Parents might want to try this one out first if they aren’t comfortable with the themes. I am pretty sure that everything sounds worse on the box and in my review then it really is in the game (After all it’s rated E10) but each kid is different and that should always be considered. I’d say early young adulthood and up especially those that delight in the Pheonix wright series or CSI sports meeting would like this, as well as adult fans of LucasArts previous P&C adventures. By the way if you find this entrancing I’d also recommend Beyond Excellent and Evil, another action adventure with similar stylishness and a splendid heroine.
Final verdict is a thumbs up, it’s a splendid game with a excellent mix of tale and gameply elements, and I reflect people will really delight in that.
