From game developer Sucker Punch, creators of the award-winning Sly Cooper series, and publisher Sony comes inFAMOUS. The first open-world title exclusively for the PlayStation 3, infamous is a release player action/adventure that places you in the role of once regular guy, Cole, who in the aftermath of a horrific catastrophe finds himself not only alive, but developing a fantastic array of superpowers. Going from ordinary to extraordinary overnight isn’t something to take lightly. With these powers does one exact revenge? Protect the innocent? Or perhaps, dabble in a small of both? The choice is yours in infamous
Tale Built around open-world gameplay where the player decides how to deal with both criminal gangs bent on destruction and devastated citizens who need help, action in infamous contains the standard mix of mission play, in which players are given specific goals and activities to meet, and free play scenarios, where you can wander Empire City doing what they will. In both, developing and learning to control Cole’s electricity-based powers is crucial. Cole can not in fact generate energy, so these powers are based on energy manipulation instead. This manipulation comes in three basic forms: discharge of energy at living or inanimate targets in either diffused or precise bursts; generation of energy shields used as protection against the weapons or special powers of enemies; and the mix of objects with time-delayed destructive energy for use as grenades or mines. As impressive as these powers are they do have drawbacks though. Because electricity can cause combustion, Cole can not wield firearms and can be hurt by items he blows up. Also, like anything electrically driven, his abilities require a potential fund. In the hurt, but not ruined Empire City, these sources can be found throughout the gameplay area, but players must note that certain actions drain energy quicker than others and that enemies will become aware of your need of a potential fund as the game proceeds and in view of that attempt to ruin those sources. This need for potential also provides a major illustration of the game’s morality system. As battles rage throughout the gameplay area and potential sources become either scarce or ruined, Cole is faced with the ethics of his ‘bio-draw’ ability. Owing to this he can harvest electrical energy from living organisms. This will grant the energy needed to survive in a pinch, but may also have consequences as to how the game develops over both the small and long-term. In addition to this, players will also face similar game-changing choices in dealing with more casual scenarios involving the citizens of Empire City. As well intentioned as a hero may be, in many cases he is just as likely to be despised as he is to be praised. Choice is the deciding factor in this, and that resides squarely on the shoulders of players in infamous Key Game Features:

I don’t know why ps3 sports meeting are not all in 1080p or 1080i resolutions. Its supposed that we do have a huge LCD screen will have an advantage, but no, it look horrible. Nintendo 64 looks better.
I’m not a fanboy of xbox or anything, but at least every game that I buy for 360 is 1080i capable.
Very dissapointed with infamous and the ps3

This game is like a Small Huge Planet version of Prototype. Powers are stupid. Lightning? Seriously? I played this and am glad I waited for Prototype instead. This game is dull compared to Prototype. You have to at a snail’s pace climb buildings. There’s like no blood. You cant attack enemies owing to fences. Water kills you instantly. How does this sound fun to anyone? And the storyline is pathetically predictable and lame. The enemies look like leftover props from the spider-man sports meeting. Prototype FOR THE WIN!

I rented this game before going out and buyuing it. I saw all the splendid reviews and was very excited to give it a try.
For the pro’s – the game environment is splendid. Plenty to climb and just an all around splendid world environment. The tale line was splendid (what I saw anyways) and the powers were splendid too. I liked the you could choose between being excellent or terrible. I really appreciate that the game did not have gore. The gore in sports meeting now is just over the top and really unnecessary. I want more in a game than gore. Some have said the lack of gore is a unenthusiastic, I see it as a clear.
The level ups on the lightning ability were also a bonus. I reflect the designers did a lot to really make the game fun.
Con’s – The reason I gave this game only 1 star and therefore can’t recommend this to anyone is for the lanuage and some of the cut scenes. The lanaguage was just out of control. Honestly, who swears that often in a conversation? Even if someone does, I don’t want it in a game. There was so much swearing that I finally had to turn the game off and took it back. Some of the cut scenes, though comic book looking, were very graphic ( both in unsettling images and make pleased ). I also read from another reveiwer that one of the bosses that you fight later on in the game is terribly immodest.
In the end, I like a excellent game with a splendid storyline as the next gamer ( and I have been playing sports meeting longer than some have been alive ). But in the end, the language and cut scenes with a very immodest boss fight in the game made it so I took this game back and won’t be buying it.
Look game designers, it is possible to make a splendid game and not have all the swearing, gore, and immodesty in it. I hope Sucker Punch will take a look at taking these things out if they choose to do an inFamous 2 (which they probably will).

I would recommend this game to anyone, free roaming environments, awesome effects, splendid psychics, and just all around fun. But my GOD i’m sick of nearly every game coming out on PS3 having a supported max res of only 720p for the sake of making the gameplay better. Blah blah its such a beast to program for, well people made it, so they’ve had over 2 years to learn it. Lets get crackin, i can’t believe that very very very few PS3 exclusives are 1080p, its BLU RAY geez. But anyways get the game play it, delight in it, you’ll like shooting bolts of electricity at enemies cars buildings and then some. Just don’t bother getting a nice 1080p LCD tv like i did, i only do hardcore gaming on my xbox elite..and the sports meeting all look stunning and FULL 1080p RES!!

If you’ve played Crackdown you will get tired of this quick. The game is mostly climbing buildings looking for small glowing icons hidden around the city (sound familiar?) that you use to potential up your abilities, mini missions that clear out parts of the city of terrible guys (sound familiar?) and main tale missions that essentially are just you zapping things with electricity to make them work
Its fun for an hour or two, and then you realize that’s all there is to the game and it gets ancient really quick. I bought my copy yesterday and I’m plotting to return it today, after I’ve beaten it. Do yourself a favor and just rent it instead of buying it
