I played the Xbox version at a friend’s house but I don’t have an Xbox so I had to get the NES version.
Let me tell you, as much as I like this system, it’s just not the same. With just 25 colors (48 affect palette) to work with, you’d reflect they’d use all 25, but it doesn’t look like it. I don’t reflect they use all the available sound channels either. This is in sharp contrast with the Xbox, which has more processing potential than the onboard computer of Space Ferry Discovery, or so I heard (in Discovery’s defense, the ferry was cheaper).
The game starts out with a timely, and describes the environment around me. Dark, depressing tower ahead. I’m likely to be eaten by a grue.
What the hell does that mean, anyway?
I’m starting to reflect the Nigerian I bought this from was lying to me.

Fahrenhiet is a game with a excellent narrative structure and a reasonable script that’s utterly ruined by its uniquely irritating system of keyboard based controls. If you’re ancient enough to remember the dreadful ’simon says’ game of the 1970’s then you’ll know what I mean.
Simon says was a portable console about 12 inches in diameter that showed a series of flashing lights in sequence – players followed the sequence, which became increasingly complex as the game progressed, resulting in fatigue, irritation and general neurosis. Fahrenheit has chosen to rehabilitate this nightmare of yore, to the disadvantage of the game and the annoyance of players. Even worse, many sequences in the game depend on an even worse modality of torture – the rapid alternation of left and right cursor keys. So having immersed yourself in the convoluted detail of the plot you can find the game grinding to a paralysing halt because you’re unable to manipulate cursor keys at 40 cycles a second. Depressing, and very irritating.
Fahrenheit has attempted to blend a progressive, cinematic narrative with a series of infantile keyboard controls. The resulting mess combines tedium with stress in a unique synthesis.
Don’t insert this game into your PC, take a trip across your apartment and firmly insert it into the toilet bowl. If you flush hard enough it’ll disappear.

The game controls were not as hard as I thought it would be. The tale line was splendid and the characters are very life like. Excellent buy.

Indigo Prophecy starts in a bathroom at a sleazy diner in NYC. A man named Lucas Kane murders another man for no obvious reason. Fortunately he is innocent, he was somehow temporally possessed and had no control of his body. Unfortunately only Lucas and the player know this. To prove his innocence Lucas will have to go to splendid lengths and ultimately end up reduction the world.
Indigo Prophecy is told owing to the eyes of 3 main characters, Lucas Kane and 2 detectives Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles. Tyler and Carla cover the investigation parts, while Lucas get the interactive scenes/evasive scenes. The tale of IP is well told in the first 3/4’s,but after that it seems to feel rushed and you never really find much out about the Indigo outcome, you only know marginally more about her at the end then you did at the start. I do feel that the ending was done excellent, just that the last quarter of the game chief up to the ending could have been done better.
The voices of IP are well done, possibly some of the best of the Xbox era, everything in the game is voiced over, not one lick of text to read. The music is excellent and features 4 songs from Theory of a Dead Man as well as a few classic tunes as well as some like making music
. This game mimics nearly every aspect of every day life, including bathroom breaks! The graphics in IP are of typical 2005 Xbox/PS2 quality, the slight edge might go to the Xbox as it was made for PC/Xbox first then ported over to PS2. Anyway bottom line is its really just average looking Xbox graphics.
One complaint I do have is that IP is small,I beat it in 5hr 5min and some odd seconds. To its benefit it does have a second replay in it,you can choose different answers and end up with a slightly different ending, depending on what answers you know to choose. I in person didn’t play it a second time as I didn’t feel it warranted one, I was pleased with the ending I got. At the end of the game you are given some bonus points to buy songs, scenes, images, and behind the scenes make pleased,it’s a nice touch but not anything special. By and large if you see it cheap somewhere ($10-$15) I’d give it a try, don’t pay too much for it as it might be a rather small experience for some people….
