When it comes to movies based on video sports meeting, very few of them in fact have shown any definitive success of being a worthwhile game. That has happened with recent titles that really shown to be worthless like Alvin & The Chipmunks, as a musical spoof similar to music sports meeting like Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution. That notion for Alvin & The Chipmunks had less of a sense than the original cartoon series back in the 80’s, which was more fun to watch. That also can be said with the overexposure of High School Musical. The Disney made for box movie has been one of the most-watched events on cable, but sadly the feeling of a game for the movie to have a game, feels less exciting.
High School Musical: Sing It! for the Playstation 2, tries to a game that fell less fascinating, and more of a burden out of your pocket. In the game, you get to play any one of your favorite characters from the movie like Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, and try to sing your own versions of songs from High School Musical and its sequel, using the special microphone that comes with the game, like What Time Is It? The graphics honest well, but the feeling of the game really misses the mark unlike PS2’s success of Singstar series that in fact shows videos, and feels more like a party, because the songs don’t miss the mark. The gameplay sounds very weak, with tweaks from sound quality with the microphone.
All in all, while High School Musical: Sing It! is a buy for die hard fans of the movie series, it really is a game that isn’t even worth burning a hole owing to your wallet for. I really reflect you’d be better off buying another music game like Guitar Hero III, or Rock Band. They might be worth a bit more, but they have more of the gameplay that makes it worth singing your heart out to. The time is to buy something else.

My 8 year ancient likes it! And now that she has a microphone, she used some of her Christmas cash to get an American Idol Karaoke PS2 game! What a treat for mom and dad! P.S. Did I mention my son received Guitar Hero this year, too????

THIS GAME IS OFF THE HOOK AND CHALLANGING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE. THE KIDS LOVE IT AND CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF IT. I RECOMMEND IT FOR AGES 2 AND UP.

The microphone that comes with this bundle is the same one that comes with Rock Band, except that it is branded differently (This one says High School Musical). I bought the game for the microphone and it worked splendid. But, I chose to give the game an actual try.
It was a horrible experience. Unless you know the songs by heart like a young pre-teen girl, you won’t have any fun either, because the vocal guide track is set up in a horrible way that fades in and out leaving you wondering where you are in a particular song. On top of that, the visual guide for the lyrics isn’t helpful since it’s IN the lyrics as opposed to next to or on top of.
Buy it for the mic and you’ll like it. Buy it for the game at your own peril.
