This is the worse PS2 game I’ve ever played. The graphics are 3rd rate and are far not more than many PSOne sports meeting.
The camera movement was so jerky that it hurt my eyes after about 5 minutes of play. My son and I bunged playing and never had an interest in playing again.
There are much better sports meeting available like FFX.

I had my doubts about buying Herdy Gerdy after the moderately low advertising and publicity it was given. Not to mention that previews of the game are scarce and it looks as though many people will end up passing this one up. Don’t.
Presume a Saturday morning cartoon (not today’s cartoons, I’m talking 80s here) done completely in watercolor and you’ll have a excellent understanding of the graphics. For those who have played Ico, you will recognize the similarity in colors and styles used, only Herdy Gerdy is a small more ‘toony.’
The gameplay runs smoothly, and once you get the hang of herding the creatures it isn’t nearly as hard as it could have been. Voice acting is excellent for a game, and the environments are wonderful. Amazingly you don’t get bored herding creature after creature, and there are also extras to be unlocked on the main menu. All in all it’s a splendid game. The reason for only four stars? Painfully slow loading times between levels and, though the tale is original, it isn’t that involving. But if you beat MGS2 and GTA3, or if those aren’t your alacrity, then this is a splendid title to play for fun.

Like many, I have looked forward to this release for quite a while. I saw pictures of the incredible graphics and art management and thought that this would be a truly unique adventure.
Needles to say it was a huge disappointment. The ggraphics were splendid in concept but in execution they were grainy and lifeless. The cutscenes were blurry and the voice animation did not match. Worst of all, the camera movement was so incredibly frustrating that I gave up realizing that this was a game that was released half-assed.
All this aside, one might reflect that the gameplay could save this title. Unenthusiastic on that one too! I found no amusment in running after cutle small animals a billion times in order for them to follow me.
I thought this game would be a more relaxed version of Zelda or something. In reality it was a headache. I resold it the next day.
I know you might be reading this thinking, “thats just one opinion, I should see for myself” I implore you not to. This review is as objective as it can be.
Sorry to dissapoint…

This game is not exact… Herdy Gerdy is absolutely gorgeous, its like playing an animated movie, and it is very fun. The first time you in fact get to herd small doops into a pen, you will reflect ‘this is in fact fun!’. It is rewarding for anyone in quest of an orginal gaming experience, adventure fans, approach fans, and to some extent platform fans. The camera is sometimes irritating, but you can control it, so it doesnt ruin the game. Just play this game, because if you don’t like it, you will at least appreciate it.

I must first admit that I haven’t spent a weekend playing HERDY GERDY. I tried it for a few hours and here’s my reaction:
The art management on this game is really splendid. CORE should be really proud of themselves. Particularly the cinematics…I’m impressed with the amount of facial animation they place into lil’ Gerdy.
The person who says this game has the worst graphics ever has no thought what he’s talking about. This game has a splendid, traditional animation feel without the obligatory toon-shaded shape. I was really impressed.
I found the gameplay, but, to be a bit frustrating. The herding aspect proved tough, and I found myself getting more disinterested than compelled to keep on going.
In fact, I was more interested in just watching than playing. But maybe that’s because I’m a small bit grown-up. The mixed reviews are probably going to kill this game, but if you’re an animator or art director worth your salt, you’ll be sure to pick up this game and give it a excellent look.
