It also enables Mantel soldiers to endure – and even delight in – any personal injuries, as well as dish out more hurt to the terrible guys.Perhaps most famously of all, Nectar increases each soldier’s awaremenss of his surroundings in combat, allowing him to “predict” impending danger. The experience is so plain that the boys describe it as a “sixth sense,” but of course there’s not anything supernatural about it. It’s simply a case of stimulating the right parts of the brain. This, according to some critics, is “perilous and irresponsible.” Those people have no thought what they’re talking about.
