The Tale In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince the Video Game, Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was assumed to be. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is quick approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his ancient friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.
Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different, but equally unavoidable adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has chose that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates. And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously, but determined not to show her feelings. Yet as romance blossoms throughout Hogwarts, one apprentice ruins aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Like is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
Gameplay Like earlier video game releases in the Harry Potter franchise, the action in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince the Video Game revolves around the exploration of Hogwarts and the action that results from what you uncover. I have played every Harry Potter game in the series and loved all of them. The puzzles, quests and mini sports meeting always made for exciting and extensive game play. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm does not extend to Harry and Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I was disappointed in the length of the tale line – most likely less than 4 hours of gameplay. The side quests were to complete the Dueling Club, Potions Club and Flying Club. You also could collect crests throughout the castle – no beans, no cards, no gobstone matches, etc. The only tale tasks that were completed were to glide in a few quidditch sports meeting, get attacked by a few of Malfoy’s cronies and duel with the real terrible guys – which was super simple! Navigation was disappointing as well. You could not pull up the Marauder’s Map and see where you were or where you wanted to go. You had to call up Nearly Headless Nick and have him lead you. This game was certainly a dissipate of cash and I will indeed reflect twice before purchasing the next installment.

I rented this (thankfully I didn’t buy it) for my Wii. Before now I have played all of the HP sports meeting on my computer and I loved them all. So keep in mind that I am reviewing the Wii version of this sixth game, because the PC one looks a lot better.
Basically you walk around Hogwarts reliving the movie – the game is probably 60 percent (at least) cut scenes, which gets VERY dull and at times irritating. Other than that, you do a bunch of mini-sports meeting like potion making and dueling. These are fun but if I wanted to play mini-sports meeting I wouldn’t have bought HP. Like all the previous sports meeting, I expect an adventure game not a bunch of mini-sports meeting.
Rather than play this I would go see the movie. The cutscenes are just too many and the game did not leave me satisfied. I would go buy the PC/MAC version it looks way better! As with the previous sports meeting I played on PC and loved them all, but this sixth one for Wii left me wanting something better.

I bought this for my grandson’s birthday (age 11), after consulting with his dad about what he already had, wanted, or was allowed to have. Harry Potter was at the top of the list. He has a Wii, and does video sports meeting more with the TV than the computer.

Splendid fun to mix potions, cast spells, glide around the Quidish Field!
If you like Harry and have Wii this game beats all the computer sports meeting by a mile! Splendid fun!Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
