I thought i would finally be able to play my ancient gameboy and gameboy affect sports meeting on tv but all i got was a colored pixelated screen very much distored. I did get sound though but thats all I got. The installation was hard to do so it should have been made simpler although i did figure it out but after all that i just got a mess on my screen. They really should have made the installations simpler. Its nearly as if you have to get a qualified to get it finished. Its ridiculous and after all that it didnt even work. This product sucks and does not work. Again this product does not work so buyers beware.

This product was so hard to place together, and I still have yet to get it to fully work on the tv. So far all I can get to work is the sound, but there is absolutely no pictures. The manual is hard to know and not very owing to. It is advertise as an simple object to place together and will take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and that a teenager can easily assemble it. My daughter is 19 years ancient, and even she can’t know how to get it to work by the side of with her friend. It was a huge dissipate of cash, and now my younger son can’t even play with the gameboy advance on tv, but it still works on handset.

I bought this some time ago and have loved it very much. But, for more than 2 years, its splendid. No need to strain my eyes any more and forget lighting accessories. We just hook it up to our huge tv and it has pretty much the same quality as the tv. The sound is also splendid. Highly recommended if you like to play GBA. We also got the memory cards and save our sports meeting. We play this more than PS2. Unfortunately, my daughter left the back off when she used the game while on vacation and now the chip seems messed up. I reflect she got dirt in it or something. But its not the fault of the device, and I’m looking for buy another. Don’t pay more than $30 for it…. Look around.
Delight in.

This product does what it says, it outputs video from your Gameboy Advance. But unless you know what you’re getting into, you may find that the installation process doesn’t justify the picture quality.
The manufacturer provides the proper screwdrivers and there is no soldering required. But the manual is often unclear and riddled with typos. The included backplate used to replace your original GBA backplate comes with a ribbon cable attached that would not fit my GBA’s FPC connector. The proper ribbon cable was separated in bubble wrap by the side of with a metal plate that mounts between the FPC connector and the cartridge slot, but the instructions make no mention of this. After swapping the cables and attaching the backplate, I tried the device on my TV and only got a jumbled mess of pixels. After some trial and error I chose that the connector pins on the cable weren’t making a solid connection with the FPC connector, which was solved by swapping the metal plate over the cartridge slot that was attached to the backplate with the other one included with the package, which has raised prongs that make better friend with the ribbon cable’s connection. Again, no mention of this in the instructions, and there’s no proper troubleshooting section.
Box format looks decent enough, and I recommend that you use S-Video if you have it. Fullscreen is a different tale. Sprites tend to bleed and small text is a pain to read, especially in a game with a lot of it like Final Fantasy. Box is okay for my purposes since I have a large TV. I guess I should also note that the unit gets pretty hot.
If you’re seriously considering this product, it’s because you absolutely need to play GBA sports meeting on a huge screen or you want the video productivity for capture purposes. If you’re just looking for a solution to the original GBA’s poor screen, you’re better off with an SP or a DS.
