This fully open 3-D airplane racing adventure drops you into the cockpits of cartoony planes where you play as their cartoony pilots. There have been other cartoonish sports meeting before, but Chance Flyers is the first to try replicating a cartoon universe so completely from the inside out, starting with the very physics. You will explore open and interactive 3-D world environments like the lush and tropical Danger Island, the wild west of Coyote Canyon, and chaotic, exotic Arabia. A branching adventure takes the player owing to each character’s storyline. The 13 engaging characters include Johnny Turbine (a mixed-up, wannabe movie megastar), Cactus Rose (a two-gun-slinging bandita), and Island Jack (the laid-back native and ambassador of mellow). The game is mediocre IF you TURN DOWN the VOLUME. The music haunts you and taunts you and will be stuck in your head all day. Don’t forget to drop your pacifier because your in the navy now. I really loved this game – more than I thought I would. I was a fan of kart racing sports meeting in the past and was looking for a 2003 version with all the bells and whistles. This game has been fun from the start and has kept entertaining for about 14 hours so far. It has wonderful graphics, large boards to explore and race owing to, cool characters, multiple airplanes to race with and excellent sound effects.
I have a couple of nephews that have really loved the game a lot too. IT’S A SAFE GAME FOR KIDS, but has some excellent tongue-in-cheek humor for everyone ancient enought to get the jokes. There aren’t too many sports meeting out there that can entertain across the age groups like this one. Bravo! Buy a couple for the other family members with PS2s.
