This is not a simulation at all. This isn’t even arcade. This a terrible mixture of both. There isn’t anything realistic or fun about this. I give it two stars because the computer does present a honest competition for you. The graphics are medicore for a trucking game that demands as much system resources. The career tree needs work as it is quite limited. There is somewhat of variety of races to play, but they are a bit tedious. The worse race I found was where you have to collect a certain amount of gold coins by the side of the race path (but some out of the way) and also come in first place. This kind of race gets ancient quickly and is hardly fun. The most enjoyable race I found was the elimination race where each lap eliminates the driver in the last place until there is an eventual winner. There is precious small payback for winning. It is mostly about racing and buying trucks to race. As far as I have seen, you can’t modify the trucks in any way. If you want to go quicker, you have to buy a quicker one. On top of that, you don’t get cash after every race. Only certain races give you cash, and those come in segments. If you hve [...], give this game a try. I paid [...] for it, and I want my cash back.

I bought this PS2 game for my son. He absolutely likes the game! Currently, this is his favorite game and he’s effective very hard to get all the trucks in the game unlocked! He thanks me for the game everytime I pass his bedroom. He says it’s got the coolest trucks!

Very fun game with different challenges and races. Several vehicles to unlock, hurt control. Point to point challenges, time attack, and race against a friend in multiple player or online.

Ford Racing Off-Road for the PS2 is a unadorned arcade game. Certainly for us Ford SUV fans, there are vehicles to delight in, like the 2008 Escape, the 2010 Bronco concept, and the Land Rover Defender. Being an arcade game, the racing physics are not realistic, and there don’t seem to be differences in the vehicle models except for appearance and alacrity. This is designed to be a pick-up arcade game, and it is fun for small periods of time. Gameplay can be loved in ‘3rd person’ or ‘hood’ camera mode. But alas, there aren’t many extras. There is no race replay mode. There are no extra features on the vehicles in the game (come on, if this is a way to promote the Ford family, how about a video profile of each model, or at least interior photos, or even a ‘driver’s seat’ camera mode). Nope. This is really a 2008 coin-op game, with the ability to save and repair vehicles. At least Ford Racing 3 was a challenging mix of arcade and simulator action. This is a very lightweight title in comparison. I’ll keep it because I like the vehicles. But the lack of depth or a replay feature is disappointing.
