Remember block graphics? Like when Fry becomes Futurama’s savior when Space Invaders attack? No diagonal shape allowed, just staircased blocks? Ok, that’s what you get in this game if you try to go NE, i.e., go N, go E, go N, go E…. With practice leaning on the Plus arrows, you can do it honestly quickly. But, gosh heck, Final Fantasy ONE — the FIRST FF game EVAH — solved this conundrum on the Game Boy Advance! And Nintendo DS can’t do that?! Maybe it’s better on the Wii, but in my aggrieved opinion on the NDS, this game should be rated N for Nobody.

First and foremost, Echoes of Time is made for multiplayer. If you don’t have any friends with a DS, or if you do not have an internet connection, I cannot and shall not recommend getting this game. Just don’t do it.
Over the course of a few hours my friend and I cleared the first five dungeons in this game, and with each puzzle and each bout came potent satisfaction and enjoyment. It’s simple to get caught up in the hitches of a game like Echoes of Time, but too often do reviewers lose perspective. I cannot reflect of a more enjoyable multiplayer title for this platform, and it’s quite a bring shame on that this game has gotten a such terrible rap. I would never deny that Echoes of Time has its share of hang-ups, but the only issue I’ve truly been bothered by are the framerate dips, which do arise in too many situations. But what I urge you, the reader, to keep in mind, is why you delight in playing video sports meeting in the first place. If you like hack n’ slash sports meeting, the Crystal Chronicles franchise, or simply have friends who you play DS with, you are sure to have a blast with Echoes of Time. It controls well (I very strongly disagree with the reviewer who stated otherwise), and the gameplay is efficiently balanced between puzzle solving, platforming, and combat. You can team up with other players locally or online, either of which is infinitely superior to playing by yourself. The AI, as I’m sure you’ve already read, is abysmal. It’s better to avoid the issue all together and play with another person.
Highly recommended.

This game plays a small different than other Final Fantasy sports meeting. I do like that you fight in real time and not another screen. The game still follows the same role playing adventure of the series, which is what makes it fun and gives you hours of game play.

it has WiFi, and you can play with some one playing it on the Wii, I got this for my brother on DS and my other brother on the Wii, I have it too so we can all play together on line, or together in the same room too. online is nice sense we are all grown up now and don’t live together any more.

This is a splendid game and the sequel to the Crystal Chronicles Rings of Fate. My husband and I played the Rings of Fate together on our DS systems and wanted to continue to play other sports meeting like it. The splendid thing about Echoes of time is, I have it on my Wii and I bought this one for him to play on his DS. He is in the navy and not stationed here, so we can play this together even though we are not near each other. My son and his girlfriend join in with us so all 4 of us can have fun and play together. The only complaint I have for the game is that you can only have one character/save for the game.
