I believe this is like the 17th edition of EA’s FIFA Soccer Series. I’ve played the original FIFA Soccer sports meeting and called me ancient school, but where’s the simulation mode with FIFA ‘10? They didn’t have it with the WII FIFA ‘09 either. In the past, I could choose not to choose a side and just be able to watch the game. What I’m talking about is different than ‘manager mode’ in this game. I reflect with the brilliant graphics of FIFA ‘10 and the actual roster of most of the teams, I was very much looking forward to this aspect. I’m 37 and at this stage of my life, I don’t care to learn the deep dribbling moves as well as the juking and fighting for the ball with the controller. I would very much like to be able to substitute different players and just watch the game nearly as a spectator with maybe some managerial decisions like attack mode, defense mode or normal mode. Pit the teams against each other and watch what happens.
Unfortunately, FIFA ‘10 doesn’t have this feature at all. You must choose to play a team with the controller. I reflect simulation mode would have had a high replayability for me.

I have never posted a review on Amazon and probably never will again, but felt compelled because this game is so full of bugs it’s just not worth buying right now especially if you delight in playing in the manager mode. I know that I would not have bought this game if I had known about all the problems ahead of time. It’s nearly as if EA Sports released this game in beta form rather than as a finished product. I would suggest waiting until at least December or later to buy because that’s probably how long it will take them to fix all the problems. There are copious problems/quirks, but here are some of the major issues in the manager mode: It is nearly near impossible to re-sign players on your team – you have to let them transfer and then buy them back, players leave your team without compensation during transfer windows even though the players aren’t for sale, but those two issues are not anything compared to the madness of the new ‘in-form’ logic which is completely unexplainable. EA has added a feature to update the form for each player during/after every match which sounded like it was going to be a splendid new feature, but let me assure you it is not. How form status is determined is completely bewildering. For example a player could have a exact 10 rating in a game, yet his form and more analytically the player’s attributes in fact decrease. This sporadic updating of player attributes positively and negatively makes playing the game in manager mode a complete dissipate of time.
I want to reflect that EA will fix these bugs at some point so I would suggest checking their site and the official EA FIFA forums for updates before buying this game.

I have been a fan of Fifa for many years now and although I read about many bugs in this years version I chose to shell out the $60 or so to get it. All started fine and I loved the improvements to the game and the physics. I downloaded an update patch owing to the PS network and every bug I had heard about didnt appear.
I then started my Manager Mode adventure. I selected Crystal Palace and progressed owing to my first season. It surprised me 3/4 of the way owing to that my Manager Reputation hadnt improved inspite of being in the top 3 but I thought thats ok, I am sure it will jump soon.
Then I noticed a few things. In game you cant always change your attack / defensive by and large….or your CounterAttack/ Long Ball etc Tactics. It nearly happens at random when it will pull up the menu for you. Then one game I played my player got sent off and I tried to change my players around and the Start button didnt function. Couldnt pause the game or anything.
I won the Championship with Crystal Palace and got promoted to the Premiership…..my manager rep was still half a star as it had been all by the side of….mmm. Rather than win the premiership and see it still at half a star I was mandatory to restart. What a pain in the arse after 40+ sports meeting played.
The fifa people are bone idle idiots who missed their deadline and released the game anyway. Unfinished. Untested and completely…trust me on this….unplayable.
Dont buy it. Go live your life or dare I say it buy PES. At least they end the game before charging you a fortune.

I have been buying and playing PES since 1999 and I was thinking that the day where I will switch to Fifa will never come because Konami was giving me what i wanted in PES.. But since 2007 Fifa started to build a better game platform I did not buy fifa at that time and I got PES for 2008-2009 but this year I said I should see if Fifa will be a better game than PES as everyone was saying in the last year and here is my observation after playing both of the sports meeting:
- Game Play Simulation (This is the most vital factor for me):
Fifa10 4.5 Stars
PES10 4 stars
Fifa feels much better an open the 360 dribbling is one of the best features in this game.. PES is still fell solid but I do not know it feels slower than previous PES and this is not realistic at all as Konami said.I want the player to pass a owing to ball when i press the button not waiting for 2 sec then do it..
- Graphics:
Fifa10 4.5 start
PES10 4 stars
Fifa feels cleaner and smother in terms of graphics for player ,pitch and stadium.
- Game Tactics:
Fifa 3.5 stars
PES 4.6 start
You will get alot more in the tactics and Team vision PES .
- Game menu Design Music Soundtrack ..etc
Fifa10 4.5 stars
PES10 2 stars
This is not a major issue for me but it will be nice if PES did spend one month more designing the menus better and licencing aging better music.
bottom line:
PES is not as terrible as people said.. it is even better than last year PES but Konami did not show respect to us as gamers and it did not increase the game alot in the last 3 years.. people might say this hard but EA did an incredible job in 2 years.. for me I will not buy PES this year I will return the game to my friend and I will buy Fifa to support them and show them that they did a excellent job and they deserve my cash..
I hope next year PES will be better bcz still not anything will top the ancient play stylishness of PES.
