The game play isn’t terrible nor is the basic concept behind the game, but the graphics and environments are surprisingly uninspired, and sometimes rudimentary.
Apart from Spartan set design giving the game an unfinished feel, the relative absence of props and large flat surfaces puts the visual weight of the game upon the textures. Unfortunately some textures look like temporary placeholders for something yet to come. Additionally, it appears that small thought was given to texture residency and juxtaposition in some areas, nor does it seem that the game designers noticed how an endlessly repeated texture block can result in undesirable patterns.
I’m betting that monolith wishes they could pull their name from this release.

I bought this as used and found out the Steam will not allow me to use it, its registered to someone else. Be careful buying used sports meeting. Steam sucks

Loved playing original F.E.A.R., but Perseus Mandate disappoints. PM takes all the minor irritations of the original and makes them worse: lack of involving tale line, repetitive environments, action, and sound all contribute to a gaming experience that left me wishing I hadn’t bothered. Just thankful that I paid less than $10!

I liked the FEAR series because it was scary and it kept you on your toes. This game, while fun, wasn’t scary. Unlike the last sports meeting, the scary spots were only at the predictable spots. It was just one ordinary room after another.

All of FEAR series have played well and had splendid graphics. The ability to run additional releases without having the original is an added plus.
