I just received the game and Wii Speak. I haven’t used the Wii Speak nor I expect to do so in near future. I bought this for a 5 year ancient son (yes – I realize the rating is for anyone 10+)
My Wii needed two updates to play the game. The update process went though without problems. The updates come as part of the dvd itself.
One of the first things that hits you is the awesome graphics. The mass, fishes, whales and other animals are captured in so much detail that it nearly like you are in ocean right next to them. I am neutral on the celtic music. At this point comes the first bolt from the blue. The instructors and dialogs are not spoken but are showed on the screen. It feels a small unnatural. also there is no quick fwd to skip owing to unrelated chit-chat and intro. There is a save option to continue the game some other time.
I assumed it still would be fun for any kid with all the fishes/whales/dolphins/sharks. But the amount of reading is enough to take some notches off the game. Unless your kids can read and comprehend all the instructions and is patient, this sports meeting isn’t for your kid. That’s a bring shame on because the sports meeting has tons of information and trivia but its all showed as pop-ups that need a lot of manual interactions.
I am still in early phases( bunged just before the dive with tiger sharks) of the game so I will set aside judgment on the game.

Endless Ocean: Blue World is all that the original Endless Ocean Endless Ocean: Dive, Learn, Dream was and more. It is more realistic then the original.(You no longer touch most of the fish to become aquainted.) The graphis are gorgeous. The controls are simpler. The addition of a real tale line and plot gives it purpose and you can now dodge & defend yourself (humainly of course) from splendid whites & other deadly preditors. This is a sequal that is in every way better then the original. You will not be disappointed.

You’ve heard that this game is relaxing, that it’s like a brain massage in a warm bath surrounded by aromatic candles and Enya, etc., but be warned!! It’s also extremely addictive in ways that bely this blissful premise. As in real life, there are so many side quests and small tasks out there to do that you can forget to simply paddle around and delight in the beauty around you. At the point where I was having a dolphin tow me around so I could quickly fill up the squares of the map in front of me so I could sell it for more cash to buy a larger airtank so I could spend more time looking for treasure to accomplish a task that would let me use the guitar that unlocked another quest…I knew it was time to stop and smell the coral.
As fun as it is, DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! Unless you want to (and believe me, you will).

This game is fantastic! Gorgeous graphics that really immerse you in the water. Lots to do and explore.

This is a unique experience! Explore, learn, catalogue, take photos, follow a tale, use different items, buy things, etc. The interface is unadorned and the tale keeps things moving by the side of. Splendid fun for the family! I wish there was a way to have the text spoken as well as my daughter likes the game but being less than 5 she cannot read it on her own.
Gorgeous and unique game. Would be 5 stars if:
> had an option for spoken vs text
> Had a few more simplified UI items (a lot of clicks to get into different things like tools, or details of fish, etc)
