The first reviewer couldn’t get the game to install on his system. Okay, that’s fine, but for me, the game installed splendid and instantly I had my eyes on ruling the East India Trading Company. I’m going to let you read more detailed reviews about the game. I had a couple of hours to kill and this game was fun.

I highly advise NOT buying this game, doesn’t Load and will NOT Update After a “flourishing” install the game failed to load and was “closed” by windows, which happens across the penetrate for Outlook users. After spending 45 minutes reading the forums where the game makers blamed the users a helpful poster figured out the solution. Don’t try the solution though unless you’re an advanced computer user.
After I finally got the game to start I clicked the update button and not anything happened. Back to 20 minutes on the forums. They finally provided to web link and instructions, once again you need to be excellent with computers to get it to work.
I don’t care how excellent the game is I will NEVER buy a Paradox product again!

I loaded my game on Outlook Home Premium and had no problems running. You CAN load a ship full with just one drag of the mouse if you know which buttons to hold (Game even tells you) I have not had that conundrum with the goods falling in regard too quickly but I have not played at the hard level yet. Map is limited but lists the ports you would expect in this type of game(Port Royale, etc.) The game centers around ports in INDIA. I wish they had an autoresolve for sea fights. I’m not interested in those on a tactial level.
There are some bugs that I have reported to support but not anything major. I too wish we could fight for the ports (maybe next year).

I’m not a whiner, and my computer seldom has problems with even the most demanding sports meeting, but this one won’t play at all. Like some other reviewers say, the game simply crashes & causes a system reboot. I went to the Paradox website & found on the forums that this is a common conundrum that spans across operating systems & computer hardware. Most unsettling was that the developers simply didn’t respond to many of the supplies for help. There are patches for the game, but the developer’s website doesn’t have them available for direct download. They grant links to other websites to download the patches, but my virus software went crazy on one of the websites saying there were two different types of viruses there. I uninstalled the game & since I didn’t get it at Amazon, like I should have, there’s no returning it. Obviously, it plays for some people, but be aware that buying this one is a gamble.
