i have been playiing dynasty warriors since its debut on the PS2 and having played DW6:E i couldnt help but notice that some things have changed i’ll go into further depth as i talk about each part of the gameplay experience but prop yourselfs DW fans, its not pretty.
Gameplay: 3/10
Suprised? many critics would give this score to a past installment of the series but this one is the one that deserves it. in the DW sports meeting the main atack button is square/X and in between mashing this button to death you could hit Triangle/Y to go a potential go and depending on when you hit Y you would get different results eg. XXY stuns enemy or XXXY a strong attack likely to knock them down. but in this game this small combo system has been removed and now the only button you need is X, Y can still be used but only to break enemys blocks so you can mash X again, and half your attacks hardly hit a excellent amount of enemies, remember Guan Yu’s spear? it had incredible range and could hit loads of folk now your lucky if you hit more than 5, This dear gamers is ****. Empire mode offers your chosen officer the role of ruler or officer which is a excellent way to mix up the gameplay and adds to replay regard but the terrible gameplay kind of makes it hard to end it once. sorry to say YOU WILL BE BORED after the first or second mission.
Graphics: 4/10
The graphics are not anything special, they never have been in DW sports meeting but the 6th game did offer some new visuals which seem to have been dropped in this game. in DW6 you had well designed and beautifull levels to hack n’ slash owing to but here the quality has fallen. the levels design is the same but the camera angle adopted in the game is terrible. in the original you could see off into the space but here you are given an awcward camera that gives you a bugs eye view which means it is not more than the character and makes navigating owing to the levels a bit hard, the character models are well designes and the character creation models you can make are impressive.
Sound: 4/10
Not anything new here, if you have played DW6 soundtrack is the same but you are able to choose the music for the stage. the music you can choose features music from every release DW game so if you feel reminiscent you can play a stage using DW2 music, if your into that sort of thing. The voice acting is terrible and amusing at times but not anything special don’t expect any Grade A acting here.
By and large: 3.5/10
If you have DW5:E then your as well sticking with that because this game is basically the 5th empires with better graphics but much worse gameplay, if you must buy it only pay like [...] dont know why you would buy it though, unless you want to give it to someone you don’t like…

This is a excellent game once you get started. Requires a lot to get started but once you learn, wow! Splendid graphics and battles. This game is not for the impatient player. Like I said ” it takes a lot of configuring to get started.
Rating: 5 / 5
I can see that the first review does not do this game justice. As a fan of the series I find this game superb, with dazzling visuals, splendid audio and epic gameplay. If you like the previous sports meeting in the series you’ll like this one. The gameplay isn’t that much different from Dynasty Warriors 6, only there are WAY more enemies on-screen and the number off attacks you can string together is not affected by taking hurt, defeating more enemies, etc. The game may seem a small complex and may get repetitive, but basically the pace at which the game moves by the side of depends on the player. There is a tremendous amount of freedom and variety in the game allowing for limitless hours of play.
Rating: 5 / 5
The game is fun for Dynasty Warriors fans, but something about the charming feel of the graphics and the changing of many of the characters makes it feel unfamiliar and loses it its fifth star, mostly because I was so used to ancient Dynasty Warriors.
P.S. Worst change: what is up with Lu Bu’s weird fan weapon? Bring back the halberd.
Rating: 4 / 5
The game is excellent with better graphics than the Dynasty Warriors 6, really nice make a character, and the new weapons look excellent. Nice work. The only conundrum is it can get repetative.
