DSi Clear Silicone Skin Case
- Simple full accessibility to touch screen and connections
- Elastic, exact fit
Product Description
With this stylish silicone sleeve, you can protect your DSi from the wear and tear of everyday use. The soft silicone material acts as an absorbent to lessen the impact in the event of the DSi being accidentally dropped or tossed, which is sure to happen with active game playing. The cover has cutout openings in areas that correspond with the volume control, game disk slot, headphone connection and the touch screen to allow simple accessibility of your DSi without ever having to remove this case

I bought a similar protector for my DS Lite previously — made by a different company, I believe — but this one which I just bought for my DSi is a certain improvement.
It’s the same quality and material as the other one and it’s a couple dollars more. But, it has the silicone cut-out around the D-pad and the buttons. This makes the controls so much more reactive than the last version where they were covered by ribbed silicone.
It also covers the potential, start, and brilliant buttons entirely – so you’ll need to locate them by touch. The material has a small recess divot on the back side for each of those buttons so that it nestles in (and is still covered by) the protector.
This does pick up dust rather simple, which would give me cause to have some interest for what would happen to the surface of your DSi if a few particles of dust got inside the cover (between the DSi and the protector). I can’t presume that would be hard to have happen and it the silicone would just keep rubbing that grit right into the case cover, wearing a scratch into it. Of course, this is all speculation, but something I certainly can see occurring.
Finally, I should point out that using this will make storing it in one of the cases from those “22-in-1″ packaged accessory kits very tight and it may be possible you could snag and hurt the silicone protector here with the zipper from those other harvest. Additionally, the silicone protector makes the DSi too large to fit in the tight space of the “dock” from those accessory kits. So you’ll have to choose to use the protector and not the dock or use the dock and not the protector.
