This is in no way a backpack– you would never belt it on and carry it on your back… there isn’t even backpack straps on it. Instead there is one belt down the back, in the middle, with a snap-click on it and a key ring on the top (perhaps to glue to an actual backpack?). This ‘backpack’ IS mini: 6 1/4 inches tall, 4 1/4 inches wide, and 2 1/5 inches deep. It fits a DS and small else (though it does have a lot of padding– which takes up room in this tiny case). I had to run to the store to get the larger DS backpack so my kids could in fact carry their DS, charger, and plenty of sports meeting– and wear it on their backs. The picture showed promise, and if this was 3 inches larger in all directions we’d be pleased, but those 9 inches are certainly needed (by the side of with backpack straps) to ever consider it a mini backpack.

I find this small case to be a nice holder for my DS Lite and my plastic 16-game-holder. They both fit nice even though it’s about as long as the length of a woman’s extended hand from wrist to fingertips. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I can’t fit my charger in. But it works well, just remember how small it is!

This mini backpack is very mini. When you unzip it, it has a divider inside to make two separate compartments. We place the ds in the back one and the front one will only fit an adapter or some sports meeting but probaby not both very easily. It does come with a hook to hook it on to a larger backpack or bag which is nice and it is very well made and has very thick padding. I did order a different larger Mario backpack which is exact to carry everything for your ds and I finished up using this as a camera case. Works splendid for that.

Our daughter questioned for this to hold her Nintendo DS; her other one was a small small. I guess we never really looked at the dimensions, but when we received it, it was DINKY!! It holds her DS just fine, but hardly any space for anything else. She really seems to like it, so we give it 3 stars, but I would spend more cash and get a case that houses the DS plus other stuff.
