Do NOT buy this game! The Longest Journey by itself is fine but Dreamfall is a disaster and a dissipate of cash. What small we saw of the game before it crashed looked excellent. First it wouldn’t run on my son’s groundbreaking new PC because it’s Outlook. Then it wouldn’t run on my 2 yr ancient laptop because it isn’t the right video card. The right video card is a very, very small list so your chances of having it are slim. The Aspyr Technical Support is unbelievable terrible! Their answer to everything is “we do not support that, check back later”. What a dissipate! Just buy Dreamfall for the X-box and save yourself the aggrivation.

The original game (The longest journey) was quite a decent game. It had some damned challenging puzzles, a ridiculous amount of splendid dialogue, and a excellent plot.
This game, but, is a POS. It tacks on a useless combat system, dumbs down the puzzles, and ends with a ‘to be nonstop’ with impending world doom and your characters more or less dead/captured. It has some maddening ‘missions’ which consist mostly of running around and fetching. The by and large sensation is somewhat akin to being repeatedly beaten with a crowbar, but less fun and more potential brain hurt.
Avoid with prejudice until they come out with the third in the series. Let’s face it…2nd sports meeting in a trilogy are usually the worst and this one adheres to the rule well.

I loved The Longest Journey. It had a unique storyline and puzzles that were challenging yet solvable. The gamplay was simple and straight forward. And renewed my hope that really splendid Adventure sports meeting were still being made. It was one of the best sports meeting I have played in years. But, after playing Dreamfall my hopes are dashed. The graphics were gorgeous and the dialogue was well done. But I despised the constant loading of the game everytime you went a few yards in the game. The gameplay was an awkward combination of the keyboard and the mouse. And, to be honest, the tale was was entirely unsatisfying. The tale, while seeming to lead to an fascinating climax was full of holes, and the ending fell flat. They ruined the April Ryan character, introduced all sorts of new people who were so briefly interacted with it made you feel like they served no purpose other than to go the really pointless tale by the side of. There is a sequel in the works but I could care less. Oh! And the really lame fighting sequences were also disappointing. What was their purpose? Carpal Tunnel? My advice, if you want a really fun game, is play The Longest Journey. But I am sure that Dreamfall (and its alledged MMO sequels) will make nice coasters.

It is a solid adventure but not more than that.
It has 3 characters but the tale is weak by and large.
Add it a weak fight system and the result is 3 Stars.
As a side note: still running a lot.

The game is fun. I really like the vibrant graphics. After playing Fall out 3 it leaves a small to be desired. My only real complaint is that the Amazon description said it included a booklet with pictures from the scenes and it was not in any of the 3 I ordered then returned. Fake advertising.
