Tale Dragon Age: Origins is a 3D oriented RPG based in a dark, heroic, fantasy realm where moral choices have a lasting depression on the people you meet, the members of your own party and the world around you. There are many different endings to the game based on the origin tale of the character and the choices you make as you play owing to the game. The game features three character classes–warrior, mage, and rogue–and three races of being–Human, Elf or Dwarf–that can take upon yourself these classes. Although most game elements, such as weapons, magic, etc., are available to any character, each class and race has different strengths, abilities and affinities which lend themselves to better utilizing different elements. Dragon Age: Origins is a release player game based on party-based gameplay and combat where the player can join, control and quest with up to three non-player characters (NPC). Players can also quest alone if they so choose, but with the chance of survival are slim. Convincing NPCs to join you, and treating them well may be necessary depending on the varying sentiments between the player and the NPC, or between the NPC’s in the party based on the chosen history written into the origin tale accepted at the beginning of the game. This uncertainty allows for a variety of possible dynamics within the party ranging from open hostility, all the way to romance. The game progresses in real-time via a pause-and-play tactical combat system that allows the player to check inventory levels, equip a character, etc. in a slight vacuum. Additional features found in the game include: a combination of a standard loot system and a currency system based on gold silver and copper; advanced character customization functionality; the use of poison, traps and herbalism; dual-wielding skills; and “spell combos,” which allow players to chain together different spells to make a unique effects. I remember reading about this game 2 years ago and have been longing to play it. I remember trying to play Baldur’s Gate when I was just a wee lad and it was probably the toughest game I have ever played. Just wondering why resalers are already selling it for $100+ before the Collector’s Edition isn’t even out yet or up for preorder anywhere?

Although Lengthy I Reflect The “Title” For My/This Review Really Says It All! “Strategic Advertising Pulls The Wool Tightly Over This Experienced person Gamers Eyes!” I Say Experienced person Gamer And Qualify Myself As Such Consquently Because I Frequented Arcades Between The Ages Of 5 In 1980 To 10 In 1985 And As It Was Cable TV Was Not Availible Until I Was 12 So The Only Real Form Of “Video” Entertainment Came With Nintendo’s Blast Onto The Scene And Really Since The Playstation Made It’s Debut I’ve Been A “Stanch” PS2 Then PS3 Gamer/Online As Well And Some Computer Gameing. Enough For The Qualifying And To The Review. Seeing Such Wonderful “Cut Scene’s” As Advertisment Gave The Depression That This Game Was Going To Be A RPG With A Gripping Tale Line. The Artistry Alone On The Cover As Well As Every Commercial/Review/Video Footage That I Looked At Really Had Me Set For At The Very Least An Above Average RPG (Something That The PS3 Has Lacked And Thankfully The Game Designers Are Finally Listening) The Truth Turned Out To Be (And I’m Embarrassed To Admit This Because I Usually Dont Let This Happen) I Let All The Advertsing That I Did See Excite Me And Instead Of Methodically Searching For More Complete Information Such As:#1″The Battle System” = Couldn’t Stand It #2″The By and large Graphics (NOT TIED TO THE CUT SCENES)” = The By and large Graphics The Ones You Are Playing Owing to For 90% Or More Of The Game Were Non-Colorfull, Lacked Clarity (And I Do Run The Hi-Def 1080P Connection To My Hi-Def 40 Inch Flat Screen And Were Severly Lacking In All Basic Areas Graphically The Cut Scene’s Were Brilliant And #3″The Tale Line Started Out Rich Became Very Cliche’ And Even Though It’s Hard Not To Be In Telling Any Tale Be It A Movie A Game Even A Novel Still The Was Very Small Originality. It was a splendid thought for a game, it had a foundation that was solid and had phenominal potential and the graphic design team knew what the game needed to support such potential unfortunatly that poured their expertise and time into a handfull of cut-scenes that left the gamer wanting more unfortunatly the gamer just didn’t realize that after seeing the preview for the game they also saw the bext of the graphics in those cut-scenes and that other than the cut-scenes (Which are far to few and between) that was basically it. The advestisers won out in the end doing their job better than I did mine as an informed consumer! DAO is a splendid game from bioware. but, there’s seems to be a honest prob with the downloaded make pleased. i got all the DLC, and the bonus items, signed in to the servers, and started my game. but, i seemed to have distress logging in to the servers over the next few days. eventually i was unable to log in at all, and lost 30+ hrs on my chr. i was mandatory to make a 2nd chr, and again, distress logging in to the servers, i lost my 2nd chr. i contacted both EA and Bioware, about this conundrum, received no comeback. ive gone thru 6-7 chr thus far, im very tired of not being able to log in. i expect this from an MMO, but not from a release player game. i should not have to be logged in to play. ive never had distress from Bioware sports meeting before. im disappointed, and for any 1 reading this it might be best to avoid the DLC and the servers altogether. I WANT to give this 5 stars, but all the difficulty I’ve had and frustrations, no help or advice from EA or Bioware, makes for a low score. Maybe these probs will be fixed in part 2.

This game started out fantastic for me, then after a week became a “grind”. And that’s unusual since you cannot level up your characters by grinding out experience, plus the mobs level stay relative to yours making it pointless to start with. The frustration comes in the form of choices, which affect the entire outcome of the game plus the gameplay. I found myself constantly on the computer looking up everything just so I wouldn’t mess up how I wanted the game to end PLUS so I could get every achievement/trophy in ONE playthrough since I will NEVER play this game again. It’s was a excellent RPG experience but with Mass Effect 2, White Knight Chronicles and FFXIII coming out I was glad those 60+ hours were over, time to go on as there is NO replay regard ever.
