I used to play this game all the time as a kid on the NES, and I still like it! It’s the exact game to pick up and play when I’m bored or need to kill a small time without being “sucked in.” It is quite addicting, but not so much that I want to sit down and play it all afternoon. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the game hasn’t been updated from the NES version AT ALL. So all of the original flaws (can’t play against a computer, getting capsules of colors you already killed off) are still there. Otherwise it’s a splendid game! I might have to get my brother a copy so we can play together…

I first got hooked on Dr. Mario during a summer I spent effective at a repertory theatre. It was a splendid way to come home at the end of a very long day and just go brain dead. After I got a Nintendo DS, I realized I could reenacted those brain dead days of yore and bought it again. Ah, it’s just as gratifying now as it was 15 years ago. Completely addictive! While I’m firming in the camp of “They should make a newer, better version for the DS”, the gameboy version still has it’s hypnotic charm. If you ever found yourself falling asleep to visuals of falling tetris pieces, this is the game for you.
