I have looked around for a excellent, reliable pad that responds to steps ALL the time, and this pad does it! Over time, it tends to rip, especially if the 1″ foam pad is used. This is the third pad I have bought because one of the original two I bought has ripped beyond using. I had it for close to year and danced several times a week, sometimes every day, so it was just wearing out. I consider replacing the pads once a year a reasonable investment because these pads are a splendid price and super open! If you want it to last longer, taking out the foam pad seems to place less stress on the pad and it lasts a lot longer. It also slips around less (virtually not at all) when the foam pad is removed as well, and it is still very comfortable to dance on, even without the insert.

Wonderful game! My ancient mat broke and I wanted another with the padding in it and this was the only place I was able to find it.

I wanted to be sure to have given this pad proper play time before I gave it a thumbs up or a thumbs down. We have had it for close to a year and I can honestly say, “we like it!” I in fact ordered a second one yesterday for my other daughters’ birthday so the two can play together. My oldest daughter, 8 and a half, went to a birthday party recently where the girls played “Double DDR” with flat dance mats and she said it was horrible. The pads slid on the floor while playing and bunched up under her feet. For a outcome that typically scores in the A-B range, she didn’t get higher than a D because the residency of her feet didn’t match the arrows. Another bonus over the flat pads is that this pad is slightly larger, making it simpler for moms (and dads) to dance too! My understanding of the smaller pads is that the arrows are quite close together, a disadvantage for a larger person. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the “cumbersome” factor. I doesn’t fold up nicely for storage like the flat pads, but will slide nicely on its side into a tight space…..just something to consider. Otherwise, a exact score!

Dance Revolution is a fun way to get actively involved in songs. The most artistic way to get implementation, develop coordination eurhythmicly as you get a deeper understanding of each song as you watch and respond to signals on the screen for your feet to follow. Then if yu want more of a challenge than others dancing with you, you can choose to compete at a higher level and dance quicker to more syncopated rhythms. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have something in their house that can be loved by family members of all ages.

I bought this product and received it within a week’s time with ground shipping. It came all folded up, which seemed like it would hurt the pad, but it did not once unfolded and laid flat on the floor for a small time. The pad worked fine with or without the extra 1-inch padding. The only conundrum was the corner arrows were very sensitive, making the dancer be very precise so another arrow is not stepped on at the same time causing errors. The product by and large looks like it can last longer than most models if used appropriately…
