Multiplayer mayhem
From the early conception, Crackdown has been built to feature a dynamic and engaging co-op experience for double the action, carnage, and intensity. Never before has a game allowed two players to simultaneously explore and cooperate with an open-finished game environment. Will you work together to find new ways of detonating your impressive stash of explosives? Or will you race each other to the next batch of collectible ability orbs? The choice is always yours!
An impressive number of weapons and objects are also at your disposal. Low on ammo? Never a conundrum. Thanks to an incredible amount of props and a deep physics system, you can use no matter what you get your hands on as a weapon: Trash cans, vehicles, even people. Set the scene for mass destruction with a game that remembers your actions better than you do. Gather vehicles to assemble barricades, build epic piles of explosives, push it to the limit. Crackdown can take it.
A sandbox full of opportunities
For the first time ever, every inch of an urban playground has been designed for you to explore and exploit. Use any route necessary as you take down the crime syndicates, going under, around, or owing to the environment but you choose. While previous “sandbox”-stylishness titles have allowed you to merely walk or guide around the environment, Crackdown encourages players to find new routes to and from destinations. Often times, scaling a building or traveling beneath the surface will present new and unexpected challenges to the player- or grant an even more deadly option for the enemy.
Get the job done, no matter what it takes. Any approach or tactic is acceptable, so long as you re-claim the streets. So let’s see: Microsoft has chose to bolster sales of Crackdown, its pathetic “Grand Theft Auto” rip-off, by letting anyone foolish enough to buy it on the “Halo 3″ beta. Sorry, but that stinks. This game is absolutely horrible, and completely unfun, unless of course the thought of running down pedestrians in various types of vehicles still appeals to you a decade after GTA. This game isn’t worth $19.99, let alone $59.99. Bring shame on on Microsoft for this, and bring shame on on me for falling for it.

God this game is dull. GTA1, the original was even better than this. You guide around…you shoot…you jump. Ooh and it’s all cartoony. But that’s it. Mind-numbingly repetetive. Will be taking this back for a refund I kid you not.

I can’t really say much about this game other than it is like Saints Row and the graphics are a bit undertoned for being dubbed ”next gen”. I onl;y bought the game for the Halo3 beta code that comes inside, I’ll probably be selling it soon after today. I wasn’t thoroughly impressed but the co-op online made the game a bit better, I suppose that is only because you get to screw around with people.

I was hearing how incredible this game was, how it’s way better than saint’s row or grand theft auto. So, I borrowed the game from my work and I chose to play it. Wow, is this game overblown. Only fun the first couple hours and then becomes terribly repeative. Once you max out your guy, what the hell is there to do? Plus, enemies constantly respawn, so most of the time you get shot off of a building and die. I’m at the end of the game right now, fighting the WANG guy and I screamed out in protest. I’ve beaten Gears of War on Insane diffuclty, but this game is just downright stupid. Plus, there is no storyline, you can get all of the achievements within about a day or two, and the graphics that everyone is raving about is not even on par with better sports meeting like Gears of Rainbow Six Vegas. Don’t believe the hype, this game isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
