Very cool graphics and all that.
But, it cascade victim to the same thing EVERY release RTS I have ever seen does: the creators start making the game insanely hard to the point of you either buy their Game Approach Guide (cha-ching), find some cheat codes, or give up on the game.
*sigh* I had some high hopes but alas… typical RTS game.

I’m a experienced person of most of the other RTS sports meeting out there, and even on simple the gameplay against the computer is extremely hard in Company of Heroes. When, after I produce 3 rifle squads (2 min into the game) they start sending Panzers to blow them all up… well, it was supposed to be simple, right?

The presentation, execution, and graphics of this game are splendid. But unfortunately, thats about all I can say about it. Relic has a habit of making sports meeting that look splendid, feel splendid, and have a lot of presentation, but lack core gameplay fundamentals and replayability. Company of Heroes is no exception.
Lets look at the problems.
1) The AI is absolutely 100% pathetic. The enemy is fully predictable, and does the SAME THING every release game. Worse, it cheats to win situations at times, and gives you a feeling they were pretty bone idle about the AI.
2) The lack of units is most concerning. Very few units, and unit diversity leave one feeling a bit empty, and questionable replayability as a result.
3) Balance, TERRIBLE balance in this game. It can take a Tiger 6 hits to kill a Sherman from the BACK. This is one glaring example of a game filled with completely retarded balance issues.
4) Lack of maps, this game shipped with something like 9 maps. Whats up with that? Most sports meeting these days ship with 20-30 maps you bone idle Relic.
5) Only 2 sides! German and American, with very small diversity between sides with a interest for reality. The balance in the game is heavily tilted towards Americans because German armor is pathetic in the game.
All in all, I cannot really recommend this game, it has far too many flaws . There are many much better RTS sports meeting out there such as Paraworld, 1701 A.D., Battle for Middle Earth 2, and Empire at War. Why settle for this?

this is a splendid game that I would not hesitate rating a 5 by and large for, but unfortunately it crashes way too much for me to delight in it. I am playing this game on a new computer, and even after downloading the most recent patch for it (1.4) it still has horrible crashes that prevent me from enjoying it.
it will get a 5 from me when the crashing issues are fixed.

Did the Free Shipping instead of the 3 Day UPS. The package arrived 2 weeks before expected and only 4 days post ordering it. Amazon did a splendid job and without incidents. Certainly buy again from them.
