Not a lot to say here, BUT, I might as well voice my immediate reaction to the opening trailer of the game. As a Canadian, I was incredibly shocked, in disbelief, and incensed that we were given no mention – given our contribution to the war effort in WWII. That set me off on the incorrect foot with this game. It was hard for me to delight in it really. Plus, I found it a bit slow and tedious. If you’re more into HALO and PC Counter-strike … don’t know if you’ll like this so much.
OH blast, I just realized, this is Call of Duty 2. Hopefully they ammended such ommission in BRO.

Call of duty 2 was the best shooting game I have ever played. But Huge red One is a piece of crap I despise this game the crosshair aims for you making it hard to find this game realistic. And the graphics suck, And on top of all that it has the worst gameplay ever. If you want to buy a excellent game with awsome gameplay buy Call of Duty 2 not huge red one.

If you use a “lefty” controller layout (go right thumbpad, aim left thumb pad), you’re out of luck with this game – there is NO option for a lefty layout. Call of Duty Finest Hour has this option, same with both Halo sports meeting and Medal of Distinction.
Because of this I found the game utterly unplayable. Activision was no help at all, will not accept returns, places hold responsible on Treyarch and will not answer if an upgrade disc will be available in the future.
It took me a excellent long time to develop finesse with the controller, I’m not going to re-learn and screw up my gameplay on other titles, just to compensate for what is essentially a screw up on Activision’s part.
So, if you use a lefty controller config – don’t spend a dime on this game.

I was able to get my hands on the xbox 360 version of this game at a walmart stand for a excellent 3 hours late at night. INCREADIBLE to say the least, game play was incredible, graphics blew away any PC or console i have seen hands down. Of course it was being show in HD and I felt like i was in the action, the characters were the best pixeled nearly like real life. The standard xbox version is excellent, i own it, but the xbox 360 version which can only be played on the 360 is increadible….It is worth buying the xbox 360 just for this game its that excellent!!! I can only reflect the xbox live will be outstanding…..

So I played this game the other night and finished it the next day. The campaign itself is pretty varied. You fight in a lot of different places throughout which helps to keep it fresh. In some levels you will be driving a tank around the desert, in another you will be flying around in a B-24 Liberator manning the guns and dropping bombs. You can even call in artillery strikes at some points in the game. There is also a pretty wide range of weapons to use. Unfortunately the game does not nail down the feel of in fact shooting the guns. The infantry combat can be pretty weak at times; it just seems to lack that gut intensity that other Call of Duty sports meeting have. The AI in the game is in fact pretty terrible and makes the shooting even worse. Teammates can’t seem to hit anything at all and like to get in the way a lot. They are constantly trying to shoot owing to parapet to hit enemies as well. By and large the teammates are pretty useless besides just being extra targets for the enemy to shoot at. The graphics in the game are excellent. The fire and smoke effects (which you see a lot of) look pretty excellent. The characters, weapons, and vehicles look nice and have a decent amount of detail. While the levels are completely linear, they are in fact designed pretty well and look excellent.
By and large the game can be pretty fun at times. Although it’s visibly inferior to the original pc game, it’s the best Call of Duty game on a contemporary generation console by far. Since the campaign was pretty small and the multiplayer wasn’t anything special, I would suggest this as a rental.
