Don’t dissipate your cash on this game if you want to play the multiplayer online. I beta tested for over a month with no problems. Installed digital version and only release player works. There is either a conundrum with the game it self, Punkbuster or compatability with Windows 7 x64. Or all the above. I would request a refund but the place I bought from does not do any refunds for EA sports meeting only. If I would have read all the fine print never would have bought this game.

I cannot even play it online and it seems as if most people running Windows 7 cannot play it online in the support forums for EA. This is the last PC game I buy, these companies cannot get their act together so sports meeting work the day that you buy it! Punkbuster kicks me out of the servers even though I am not playing on PB servers and it is disabled. FAIL EA, FAIL!

Battlefield Terrible Company two is a splendid game. Wonderful, fun multiplayer. That is- if you can even connect to the game. Most of the time you can’t connect to the servers because they are down. If by chance, you do connect you are randomly kicked for no reason in seconds or minutes. EA sports meeting has never been able to pull off a flourishing game launch and this is no exception. It needs patching yesterday, the servers are all crashing because EA hasn’t provided enough of them, and by and large, it’s unacceptable. Wait for a month or so after launch until this “Beta” version is bug checked and fixed. Terrible performance on EA’s part- time after time they simply want your cash on the front end, and refuse to spend it on the back end to support the game.

I have most all the Battlefield sports meeting and still play BF 2 today. The game start up menus look outdated and step backward from the BF2 menu screens. I guess they place all the cash into the graphics. There is no prone position so forget about playing the sniper in multiplayer they will see you for sure. I hope the new BF3 game is better than this “Terrible Company 2″.

If you’re buying this for the multiplayer, it’s a crapshoot right now. Bottom line, if you’re considering a buy, wait until they sort out the bugs. Your progress is stored on EA servers, which are currently only updating periodically. Chances that you can access them are slim, so unlocks may or may not transfer into the next game you play. Additionally, many players are reporting errors where they are being kicked out of sports meeting even before they end loading. Initially I was only able to join one full game, and entered a second game with none of my progress carrying over. Systematically going down the server list resulted in a heap of network and “EA servers are busy” messages. Further attempts have been hit and miss; there doesn’t appear to be a cure-all that users can implement right now. EA has acknowledged these problems and indicate that they’re effective on it, but have provided no definitive timetable as of yet.
This gave me some time to look at the singleplayer. The campaign is a step backward from the lessons learned in recent gaming. Every time your teammates grant exposition, control is taken from the player and the screen letterboxes, completely breaking immersion. Small context for your activities is provided. The relative brevity of the campaign also fails to justify the $50 price.
Some quick things you should know:
-No option to go prone. Simpler to spot snipers, harder to hide.
-No toggled bow. To remain crouched, prepare to keep holding Ctrl.
-No Battlefield 2-like commander role. Some of that functionality is relegated to individual troops. Mortar strikes can be called, but it’s an upgrade to the recon kit. Armed UAV remote control stations can be operated by any soldier willing to use them (assuming the UAV has respawned).
-Kills made with vehicles unlock upgrades separately from kills made with your various class kits (which each have their own upgrade progression). An overarching rank (Confidential, Physical, etc.) results in additional upgrades.
-If you’re interested in running a dedicated server, you MUST rent it from an EA/DICE “trusted partner.”
All that being said, check the forums, weigh your risks, and realize this is a bumpy launch for those of us on the PC side. Despite the brief and lackluster singleplayer (which has never defined the Battlefield series anyway), and the fact that the bit of multiplayer I’ve been able to play has been a change for the Battlefield franchise, it’s sufficiently fun that I’d like to be able to play more. Will check back in with updates as EA and DICE address these issues; hopefully I’ll be able to adjust the rating up in the near future.
