A far weep from “the mighty 8th”, this game while fun for a while, seems watered down for the kids.

Kids like this game but it is so simple for it to get lost/misplaced because of its small size.

I was hoping this would be an attempt at a 3D combat flight simulator, but I was very disappointed. This poorly implemented shoot-em-up is repetitive and tedious after a few minutes of play. The 3D graphics are nearly non-existent, and the audio loops become very irritating. The DS touch interface is not used to splendid advantage either.
It would be splendid to see someone eventually develop a flight simulator for the DS, in the spirit of the ancient “Red Baron” or “Aces over the Appeasing”, both of whose graphics the DS should be able to handle. Unfortunately, B-17 is not such a game.

Unlike some of the other buyers, I am NOT a hardcore “Gamer”. I bought this game for it’s simplicity. I wanted something to pass the time and have a small fun with. This game has just enough variability to be fascinating. It wasn’t hard to play and was just what I wanted….to delight in…not to be frustrated.
