Alone in the Dark: Inferno
- Full 360-degrees camera control – Enhanced camera controls allows complete freedom of the camera and better handling of third person movement for even more immersive gameplay enabling you to view the fire and mass destruction they are causing in all of its glory
- Fine-tuned controls – quicker and smoother reactivity of the hero’s movements in third person view increases the pace of the game and makes for quicker, reflexive gameplay during tense fighting scenarios
- Inventory system more accessible – more most likely jacket inventory system with the ability to scroll rapidly owing to the inventory with the D-pad or analog stick to combine objects. In addition, gameplay is paused when accessing the inventory system to allow most creativity in combining items to make unique weapons
- More tips – additional on-screen tips will help players quickly adapt to controls and easily know how to overcome tough situations
- Ethereal Vision tuning – a tutorial earlier in the storyline clarifies the need to burn roots in order to gain ethereal vision (a potential that grants you the ability to see the unseen) and difficulty tuning means less ethereal vision is required to reach the end of the game

The line pretty much says it all. Played it on 360. It took a lot to get owing to it. I tried it again for ps3. I guess i am just a glutton for punishment. I was really just curious about the improvements. Teaches me to be curious.

Alright, this game is downright irritating. Not in it’s make pleased or storyline, but in it’s control schemes. This is supposed to be an improvement over the previous releases? Holy cow, seriously I wouldn’t even want to see that version then. To me its just frustrating to see a monster, and stare at it while jerking the controls around trying to make the Keanu Reeves look-alike protagonist kill it before it takes a few chunks out of me. It reminds me of one of those dreams where some dude is trying to kill you, but you can’t make your hands into fists, or get your handgun to fire while he gets closer and closer to you. You know what you want your dude to do, but excellent luck making him do it with any kind of alacrity and finesse.
It was so frustrating, I just can’t take anymore. Go into a room, get attacked, fumble with your weapons or melee attacks, kill the monster, and be severely wounded. Find shape spray, do again process. You can’t be proactive, only (at a snail’s pace) reactive in this game amidst the social class of a well done environment. Bottom line, what could have been an enjoyable game was ruined by a touchy and irritating control setup, regardless of schemes chosen….

The ps3 version is the definitive version of the game. but, that doesnt mean its flawless. there are still some bugs and glitches in the game.
ive had moments where the game froze, where my car was stuck on something that wasn’t there ect, where my character was stuck and where a cut scene would not even load.
thats the terrible, the excellent is that this game has some of the greatest moments in gaming history. the controls are decent. they dont accommodate the combat very well, but its a ton better then on the 360 and pc.
the controls also feel a bit loose, its just not something you would expect a 3rd person game to feel.
to be honest, i like this game, even with all its glitches and bugs. its a ton of fun to play, as long as you can play around the terrible stuff. that said, for the cheap price you can find this game now, its worth a shot.
