if *only* i had really read the product description before i bought the rock box (i got really lured in by the 50% off price by the side of with free shipping!) and then later spent an hour trying to get it to work with the Guitar Hero drums. i am so annoyed …. i reflect that the box could probably be retrofitted to handle the GH drum kit (it’s the cymbals that are the issue) + the width is too small to handle the set. but, i am not about to re-engineer the product & will just keep it to house the guitars, pedal, drumsticks, controllers, etc … and leave the whole drum kit out (which was really the point of buying the item .. to HIDE the drum kit!). i couldn’t presume trying to return this because it is so unwieldy … i’ll just suck it up and take the loss and hopefully try to get at least a bit of clear use out of it.
Would have been quite lovely had it been able to handle the GH setup .. the concept is brilliant & really helps to clean up the room. Certainly well constructed, high(-ish) quality leather (doesn’t *seem* like pleather!).
only other issue, as others may have mentioned, is that it does seem a small tough to get the drum lever to release to lower them .. i’m not sure my 9 year ancient would have had the manpower to handle that.

Really cool thought! But for 300 dollars, it’s called “under the bed.” I’d in fact consider buying if the price were reasonable.

It’s a splendid storage container, but Houston we have a conundrum. Our new puppy used it as his bathroom and the pad is now soaking wet. Anyone know if the mat is washable?

This is a well made ottoman and a very gifted thought! Much to my dismay, but, the drum set I got with Guitar Hero Rock Band did not fit on the pull out drum stand housed in the ottoman – it was too huge! So unless you have a very basic drum set, you may want to check to determine if it fits. But, with a few modifications I managed to make it work. I had to take out the drum stand bolted to the bottom of the ottoman. Then I had to cut out two panels (which was simple because they were only held together by fabric). Once that was done, I managed to fit two guitars, sports meeting, control units and the disassembled Rock Band drum set in the ottoman just fine, with a small creative residency. So when we want to play rock band with drums, all it takes is a few screws to place the drum set back together and you’re excellent to go. This is a honestly large ottoman and the storage it provides (even with my homemade modifications) really cleans up the living room. Just don’t panic if the drum stand in the ottoman does not fit your drums. It works just as well without it, by taking it out, as I mentioned. Excellent product! Our living room looks like a living room again.

The “Rock Box” is a splendid space saver for anyone who doesn’t know what to do with all of their rock band equipment. It easily fits 2 guitars, a microphone and the drums, plus looks splendid while doing it!
