The game is fantastic it’s a splendid classic RTS, but for some reason I can get it to run I high res only 800 x 600 otherwise it crashes about 2 min into a skirmish or mission.

Age of Empires II, Gold Edition is a fun and exciting game. It is very versatile, has lots of splendid features, game types, civilizations, and tons of in-game complex strategies, units, technologies, and buildings. Although the graphics are not nearly as excellent as modern RTS sports meeting, it still has an epic feeling to it (the same also goes with the music). Key features include: historical campaigns and new historical release scenarios, pro-level recorded sports meeting that come with the product (splendid for improving your strategies), and the addicting Random Map sports meeting. Please note that I haven’t tried the multiplayer, but but I believe it’s owing to GameRanger, so it should be excellent. I had this for PC, and now that I’m a Mac, I had to get it.
Other pros:
Scenario editor is simple to use
The Vanquisher’s expansion pack is included, pus Gold Edition make pleased
Other cons:
Graphics/music are outdated by now in their quality
Need to re-map some hotkeys if you don’t have a full keyboard (such as if you’re on a laptop).

For all of us that just don’t like the newer Age of Empires this is the game that we fell in like with. In depth gameplay but not too hard so anyone could learn to play. I feel the conundrum with a lot of these types of sports meeting is that they outsmart their own intended consultation. This is not the case for AOE 2, splendid approach game!
